Popper Fishing in an idyllic paradise
Situated in the Bay of Bengal these tropical islands of rainforest, mangroves and deep drop offs in the Andaman Basin make an ideal location for any form of saltwater angling. We fish the Andaman Islands groups of Ritchie’s Archipelago and the South Andaman Islands.
The reason for the spectacular fishing in these waters is due to the rich and diverse ecosystem, which provides huge amounts of nutrients and a rich supply of baitfish to keep the food chain going along with the fact that there is no commercial fishing along the reef systems.
Port Blair is accessed by air either from Chennai (formerly Madras) or Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) in India, the flights reach Port Blair the Capital of the Andaman Islands by noon each day. If you want to there is the option of taking the ship ride across although this is not recommended as it takes over 2 days. The flying time to Port Blair is about 2 hours, in Port Blair you will be met and assisted on arrival.

Port Blair is the entry point and the Capital of the Andaman group of islands.

Havelock Island is in Ritchie’s Archipelago and lies 22nm or 41km NE of Port Blair the Capital of the Andaman Islands.

The Reefs of Ritchie’s Archipelago are numerous and spread throughout the Archipelago which to its northern most point is not more than 25nm or 46km away from your base at either No. 7 Beach or No. 3 Beach.

The Reefs between the Middle and Little Andaman Islands are also numerous and untouched, these are more easily accessed from Port Blair.

Dolphins and Pilot whales make regular appearances off Havelock Island’s No. 7 Beach voted as the best Beach in Asia by The Time Magazine.
Fishing & Seasons
Huge Giant Trevally, monster dog tooth tunas, black and blue marlin, large sailfish, big groupers and sharks are all found in one area the Andaman Islands. Best known for explosive surface action with heavy chugging poppers and high octane vertical jigging, the Giant Trevally and Dog-tooth tuna are known to win more battles than the angler as you fish the reef edges and jagged drop offs.

We offer a range of charters based around our 30ft, 37ft boats to fish the untouched reefs of the Andaman Islands, for long inaccessible and untouched this Island group is the last frontier for true big game sport fishing. A brief sketch of some of the package details below:
Option 1….Extreme popping and jigging package: up to30 mile radius of Port Blair/Havelock depart 07.00 return 17.00. 5 or 7 day packages from 800 Euro per boat day, on board meals & water included. (Tackle hire per person 25 Euro per person a day, consumables like lures at cost).
Option 2…Popping, Jigging & trolling package: up to 20 mile Radius of Port Blair/Havelock depart 08.00 return 17.00 5 or 7 day packages 2/3rds popping/Jigging 1/3 trolling from 625 Euro per boat day, on board meals & water included.(Tackle hire 20 euro per person day consumables like poppers and jigs charged at cost)
Option 3…Trolling and bottom fishing package: Up to 10 mile radius of Port Blair/Havelock depart 08.30 return 17.00 5 or 7 day packages 2 days trolling remainder bait fishing from 510 Euro per boat day, bait, onboard meals & water included. (Tackle hire 15 euro per person day consumables like hard bodied trolling plugs and skirted lures charged at cost)

30 ft Catamaran Halcyon 3
The 30ft ‘Halcyon III’ is a 2860 Prokat, a planing Catamaran powered by a pair of 225hp Yamaha 4 Stroke outboard engines, giving a very comfortable 25+ knot cruise. This boat has been chosen as a fast game-fishing vessel to cope with the distances involved with fishing the remote areas of Ritchie’s Archipelago and the South Andaman Islands as well as for long day trips to Barren Island and Invisible Bank.
“Halcyon III” is in survey to carry 4 anglers plus the guide. Being a Catamaran it has huge fishing space with all game-fishing options fitted. This is a fantastic platform for popper casting and jigging.
Our electronics system features state of the art GPS plotter, VHF and sounder. We have a 2kw sounder capable of finding the deep underwater canyons down to 200+ metres.
37 ft Centre Console Rampage
The 37ft ‘Rampage’ is a purpose built Popping platform, powered by a pair of 225hp Yamaha outboard engines, giving a very comfortable 20 knot cruise. This boat has been purpose built as a fast game-fishing vessel to cope with the distances involved with fishing the remote areas of Ritchie’s Archipelago and the South Andaman Islands.
Rampage is in survey to carry 5 anglers. We have a range of the latest quality tackle from 20lb-100lb all suited to the stand up style of big game fish fighting and especially popping and jigging.
The spacious and user friendly layout along with state of the art electronics make this boat is one of the fastest and most capable popping, jigging and game-fishing platforms constantly available in the Andaman Islands. And of course, it’s unique hull provides the smoothest ride of any boat in it’s class.

Accommodation and food:
We run our own Guest House conveniently located 5 mins from the jetty where the boats are moored and also over looking the sea! It currently can comfortably sleep up to 8 anglers in A/c comfort and is equipped for anglers. Hotel accommodation is also an available extra.
Traditional Indian food, mildly spiced by our in house cook, some continental items on request and off course freshly caught fish. A new addition this season will be the Tandoor (is a cylindrical clay oven used in cooking and baking). So we’ll have our own in house tandoori fish for supper!
Ideal Group Size
Ideal trips are for groups of 2 to 8 anglers and these trips are some of the best value for money trips when you take into account the quality of boats we run and fish we catch. It is also an ideal place to meet anglers from other parts of the world and share fishing experiences. This season we have some great options available for non fishing partners who’d like to explore the Andaman Islands while their partners are out fishing.
